I have lived in this town so long
That I forgot that there are stars in the sky
My life is city smog and suburban drawl
Of vipers that creep through the sun-baked thistles
I got lost on never ending roads to nowhere
Gum-tacked pavement, cheap nasty coffee
And cold night air
I forgot that there are stars in the sky
Up above the world so high
