"I don't think that being a strong person is about ignoring your emotions and fighting your feelings. Putting on a brave face doesn't mean you're a brave person. That's why everybody in my life knows everything that I'm going through. I can't hide anything from them. People need to realise that being open isn't the same as being weak."

How Do You Defy?

How do you defy all that is expected of you?

How do you defy the odds?

How do you defy life, and death?

How do you defy all stereotypes?

How do you defy all you love, and all you hate?

These are the questions I ask myself, time after time. How do you defy?

First, list the odds straight out. Don't gimme something abstract - "love" "hate" "opposition" won't work. :) "Defying odds" in general is getting hackneyed here.

Second, don't try. Like Yoda...what, "Do or do not - there is no "try"? If you 'try' to defy the odds, literally telling yourself "I'll try do something different, I'll try get over that - I'll try make my mind change, I'll try get it out of my head."...you won't.

Don't just say it - do it. Act it. Whatever - honestly, it might sound harsh, but writing poems, albeit very good, won't get you anywhere near defying the odds. Identify the problem, learn about it, and solve it. The more you question it, the more your uncertainty grows. And the more you let the emotions seep in, the more confused you'll get. Study harder, read more, write more, whatever it is to get your mind off (assuming the "odds" have to do with the topic of your other blog).

And...hey, if I'm sounding too pragmatic, tell me. I'm in a weird mood today.

Hey, just read some of the recent posts in your blog.

Sorry...I know. It's easier said than done. But I got through it, even though I thought it would never end - just eternally going on forever and ever, and having to act like I didn't care every single day. It was long, painful, and lonely, but I made it through. Live one day at a time, love - don't worry too much.
